Facebook Shop is Launched Today

Facebook has just created history today by announcing a set of new features that will make both Facebook and Instagram platforms the new online shopping destination. It seems like this COVID-19 pandemic has finally given Mark Zuckerberg a “needed” push to roll out this announcement.

This move allows more small business owners to move towards the online world, many of which had to shut down their business due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Best thing of the news is, it requires no fees approach in setting up a store on Facebook and Instagram.

Facebook’s Layla Amjadi said “It’s bigger than usual just because we want to make sure we’re moving quickly to get these tools in the hands of as many businesses wherever they are, big or small, to help them survive during this time”.

Can You Find Customers on Facebook & Instagram?

“This is the biggest step that we’ve taken yet [in e-commerce],” Zuckerberg said in an announcement livestreamed on Facebook. With the current users available on both of these platforms, it is safe to say that business owners can never run out of orders, as long they know how to target them.

Facebook is working with other big names such as Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, ChannelAdvisor, CedCommerce, Cafe24, Tienda Nube and Feedonomics to design the social network into a top notch shopping destination. Facebook’s main priority is to make this process as simple as possible, so it can entice more businesses to take up the Shop feature.

Brands will be able to build their Shops, on both Facebook and Instagram. However, this feature will not be available to everyone right away. Could this be the next big thing for both consumers and business owners, Facebook is confident about this.  As the Shops feature rolls out, it aims to create a seamless shopping experience by allowing users to browse and purchase products directly within the apps. With Instagram’s impact on sales becoming increasingly evident, this move could solidify the platform as a major player in the e-commerce space. Businesses, both small and large, are expected to benefit from enhanced visibility and direct access to their target audiences.
